Press Release
Odiogo Content Shifting Solution Allows Listening To And Reading Internet News Sites And Blogs On
iPods
October 31, 2007 — Odiogo (http://www.odiogo.com),
the leading Web 2.0 provider of text content shifting solutions, has announced today that its automatic
podcast offering allows listening to and reading internet news sites and blog posts on portable devices.
Odiogo's solution automatically converts internet articles into high fidelity audio files which can
be automatically uploaded to iPods and MP3 players. While listening to downloaded audio files, users
also have the ability to simultaneously read the text of the audio story or article on the device's
screen.
"With the proliferation of access devices such as MP3 players and mobile phones, Content Providers
want to maximize the ways to reach their audience and embrace the Write Once, Consume on Many paradigm," said
Marc Kawam, CEO of Odiogo. "The hundreds of thousands of audio file downloads we have experienced
for the last few months on our platform confirm end-users' interest in our content repurposing offering."
Odiogo's new addition takes advantage of the lyrics specification of the MP3 file standard originally
created to attach the lyrics of a song. Without any software installed on either the computer or the
portable device, the text content is automatically uploaded to the iPod/MP3 player when synchronizing
each audio story. This feature turns in a snap iPods into portable RSS readers.
Stacy Blackman from Stacy Blackman Consulting said, "The readers of my blogs are MBA candidates
who are very often on the go. With the addition of this new feature from Odiogo, they can decide if
they want to listen, read, or do both. For example, it is easier to concentrate on a TOEFL or GMAT question
when reading it on the screen."
"We find this new addition particularly useful for people who want to quickly browse through
a story before listening to it," said Amir Orni, CEO of Jpost.com, the on-line edition of the Jerusalem
Post. Orni added, "Foreign readers appreciate being able to read and listen simultaneously."
Bloggers can sign-up to the free service on http://www.odiogo.com and
install the widget for popular blogging platforms such as TypePad, Blogger, WordPress, and TeraPad.
