Installing Odiogo On WordPress MU 2.6

The WordPress MU Administrator needs to install the plugin as follows:

  1. Click menu Site Admin > Options
  2. Make sure option Plugins is checked, if not, check the option and click Update Options
  3. Download the Odiogo Listen Button WordPress Plugin
  4. Upload directory odiogo_listen_button to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory via FTP

The instructions to be provided for bloggers to to activate Odiogo on their blogs are:

  1. Sign-up freehere
  2. Login to your WordPress admin account
  3. Click menu Plugins and click Activate for Odiogo Listen Button
  4. Click Settings > Odiogo Listen Button
  5. Enter your Odiogo Feed ID specified in your Odiogo Activation Email and click Save
  6. Click Design > Widgets and click Add for Odiogo Subscribe Button
  7. Click Save Changes

Faster Availability Of Audio Files With XML-RPC

By default, our system checks updates in your blog’s content every couple of hours. Using XML-RPC allows to notify us that you have updated your blog (new or modified post). Invoking the XML-RPC service will allow a faster availability of the audio files of your site.

Here are the instructions to define the Odiogo XML-RPC server in installed versions of WordPress.

  1. Login to your WordPress admin account
  2. Click menu Options > Writing
  3. Under Update Service add URL http://rpc.odiogo.com/ping/ in the text box. Make sure to separate multiple service URLs with line breaks.
    (Note: If don’t see the text box, click menu Options > Privacy and enable Blog visibility)
  4. Click Update Options

WordPress Odiogo ListenButton Plugin instructions

Here’s the procedure to install and enable the Odiogo ListenButton on your WordPress Blog:

  1. Sign-up your blog’s RSS feed with Odiogo - wait for the activation email
  2. Download the plugin

  3. Upload directory odiogo_listen_button to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory via FTP

  4. Login to your WordPress admin account and activate the Odiogo Listen Button plugin through the Plugins menu

  5. Click menu Options > Odiogo Listen Button

  6. Enter your Odiogo Feed ID and click Save

  7. Click menu Presentation > Widgets (or Sidebar Widgets depending on your WP version)
  8. Drag and drop Odiogo Subscribe Button from Available Widgets to Sidebar
  9. Click Save Changes

  • Tested with WordPress 2.07, 2.1 and 2.2
